Where chargers, prices and availability come from, and how fresh they are.

Who the information comes from

Chargers, plugs and prices are published by the people who run them. We list each charger under its owner and show the owner’s name on it.

How fresh is “free now”?

Each status shows when it was last confirmed. A status that is recent shows as live. When an update is older than it should be, we mark it as not known instead of showing it as free.

Drivers can also check in at a charger to say what they found. A check-in counts for a short while and is clearly labelled as coming from a driver.

What we never do

We never show a charger as available when we are not sure. “Not known” is an honest answer, and it is what you will see when there is no recent information.
