Where are the EV charging stations in Dubai?

By SachinReviewed by Sachin, ReviewerUpdated

Quick answer

Dubai's public EV chargers are mostly in mall and public car parks, hotels, residential areas and fuel stations, run by DEWA and several private networks. The fastest way to find one is a live map filtered by your connector type. ChargeMigo lists the chargers it knows about in Dubai and shows each reading's age so you know how fresh it is.

Dubai has one of the densest public charging networks in the region, but the stations are spread across very different kinds of places, each with its own access rules, power levels and prices. This guide explains where chargers tend to be, how to find the right one quickly, and how to avoid driving to a charger that is busy or offline.

DEWA and Parkin have been reported to be deploying 100 chargers across Dubai, and mall operators add more. Check the map for current locations. (source: EVLife).

How do I find a charger near me?

  1. Open the ChargeMigo map and allow location, or search for an area such as Dubai Marina or Downtown.
  2. Filter by your connector (Type 2, CCS2, CHAdeMO, NACS) and by minimum power. The connector guide explains which is which.
  3. Tap a station for its connectors, price note, hours and the last reading.
  4. Tap Navigate to open your maps app.

Which charger type should I choose?

  • AC (Type 2): best when you will be parked for an hour or more, and usually cheaper per kWh.
  • DC fast (CCS2, CHAdeMO): best for a quick top-up between stops.
  • Tesla sites: check that the site accepts your car before you go.

Is the charger actually working?

A listing can be out of date. ChargeMigo never shows an unknown status as available. Each connector shows a status, an icon and text, and when it was last reported. A reading older than the live window is shown as historical, not live.

If the operator's app shows a different state, trust the operator's app and tell us with a check-in so the next driver sees it.

Which Dubai areas have the most chargers?

Area pages are shown only where an area has at least five listed chargers. Typical starting points are Downtown Dubai, Dubai Marina, Business Bay, Deira and Dubai Silicon Oasis.

How do I make a charging stop smoother?

  • Arrive with enough charge to reach a second charger if the first is busy.
  • Have the network's app installed and payment set up before you arrive.
  • Park fully within the bay and do not block other bays.
  • Move your car when the session ends, since idle fees can apply.
  • Record what you found with a check-in; it helps everyone.

What do drivers ask most often?

How do I pay at a Dubai public charger?

It depends on the network. DEWA offers registered use with a card and a guest mode with a QR code; other networks use their own app. See How to use a DEWA EV Green Charger.

Do I need an app for every network?

Often, yes. Some stations accept contactless cards. ChargeMigo links to the operator's app when we have it.

Which charger is best for a quick top-up?

A DC fast charger, if your car supports it. Check the connector type and kW before you go.

Can I charge at a mall without shopping?

Rules differ by site. Check the station's access note and parking terms.
